Intro to Public Speaking and Public Forum Debate Camp is for students in 4th grade to 12th grade. It is the perfect way to keep students engaged and learning during the summer months. This camp will offer an interactive and engaging program to help students develop their communication and persuasive skills, both in public speaking and formal debates. Each program will be three hours in length and can be taken for all six weeks or picked and chosen by the student.
This will be a virtual camp where it will be better than in-person due to the convenience of being able to join from anywhere with an internet connection. Students will be able to participate in their own homes, making it much easier for them to stay focused and engaged. In addition, the virtual format allows for the opportunity to reach students from all over the world. This will offer a unique and diverse opportunity for the students to interact and learn from each other, as well as expand their skills.
The program will focus on developing public speaking skills through the use of various exercises and activities. This will include learning to be comfortable speaking in front of an audience, developing a persuasive argument, and using storytelling techniques. Other topics will include the basics of formal debate, such as researching, finding evidence, and developing a case. The students will also have the opportunity to practice their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
